Throughout this school year, you have worked very hard to create a positive classroom community where all of its members could make progress and grow. You have achieved that! Each and every person in your classroom community has made progress. P.R.I.D.E. is shown everyday. You are getting ready to move on to middle school. You are going to be switching classes every 43 minutes. Each class will have a different teacher, a different set of classmates, and each will be a different community that you are a member of. You have worked hard to become a positive member of this classroom community. It is time to start thinking about what you have learned this year that can help make you successful next year.

Your final wiki assignment is to create a final reflection on fifth grade, what you have learned, and what you will take with you moving forward. Throughout this project think about what makes you a positive member of your classroom community. You will do part of this assignment in school and part at home. The whole project is due this week. You are encouraged to get ideas from not only your classmates, but anyone who is a student of Mrs. McDonald and Miss Breen. You will want to look through your writer's notebook and your reading response letters to help you remember your year. Remember that last week your class created a Google doc that lists memories from this year.

Directions

Step 1. Create a Google Slide Show Presentation that represents you. You may choose a theme, insert images that help convey your message, and select any other enhancements that will help capture the attention of your audience (your teachers and classmates).

Step 2. This means that for Friday, June 14, 2013 you will:

Requirements: You will create the following slides that answer the following questions:

- Slide 1 - Title Slide will include your name, your homeroom number, Fifth Grade
2012- 2013, and a brief, appropriate title that represent the year you
have had.

- Slide 2 - The Beginning will reflect on how your year started. What was the beginning of
fifth grade like for you? What were you thinking coming into the year?

- Slide 3 - Hopes & Dreams will tell what your goals for the year were. What were your
hopes? What were your dreams? How did you intend to meet those goals? Who
did you need support from? (This was most likely typed in Google docs. You may
wish to find it and copy it.)

- Slide 4 - Term 1 will describe how the first term went for you. Did you make progress
with your goals? Did you remember to work on them? What worked well for
you? Is there anything that you struggled with or found difficult? Did you get
the help that you needed?

- Slide 5 - New Year Resolution will tell what your resolution was for the rest of the school
year. What did you hope to accomplish before the end of the year? Did you
create new goals? Did you update your goals? This was mostly likely a Google
doc that you could get ideas or copy from.

- Slide 6 - Term 2 will describe how the second term went for you. Did you make progress
with your goals/Resolution? Did you remember to work on them? What worked
well for you? Is there anything that you struggled with or found difficult? Did
you get the help that you needed? What helped you?

- Slide 7 - Term 3 and MCAS will describe your progress in the final term of fifth grade.
Again telling about your progress towards your goals. Tell how MCAS went for
you. What strategies did you use? Do you feel as though the strategies helped
you?

- Slide 8 - Classroom Community and Teamwork will discuss how your classroom community
contributed to your overall progress. What about your community did you enjoy?
What will you always remember about this community? What lessons have you
learned about being a member of a community?

- Slide 9 - P.R.I.D.E. will explain how you've displayed P.R.I.D.E. throughout the year.
Remember that P.R.I.D.E. stands for Positive attitude, Respect others and
property, Individual responsibility for actions, Do your best, and Everyone learns.
You may set this up as an acrostic poem with PRIDE going down and each letter
starting the line. (See Mrs. McDonald's example)

- Slide 10 - Going Forward shall tell what you have learned this year that you will take with
you in the years to follow. What have you learned about working with others?
What will you do to be a positive member of your future learning communities?
What will you choose to do so that everyone can see the best you that you can
be? Who will help you?

- Slide 11 - In Summary will summarize how you feel about this school year. What have you
accomplished that you are proud of? Have you met any of your goals and if so
which ones? What will you always remember? Is there anything that you will
miss?
